This was a manipulation assignment.  I placed three photos of my friend within one photo.  To do so, I cloned each of the three photos into the one of the street. Finally I put a filter on the entire photo.

This is a photo of my brother’s knee encircled by gloved hands forming a heart.  It was for the object assignment.  The glove was the object.  I enjoyed shooting this.  My mom, brother and I were all goofing around.  It was winter and cloudy, so the light was very soft coming through a window.  I made the photo black and white using the creamtone preset in lightroom.  I find the photo odd but beautiful.

This photo was for an object assignment.  I took this particular phto at the very end of the shoot.  I threw the glove, my object, into the garbage, and took a photo.  It was unusual and a little creepy.  It makes me eprsonally think about the situation-why did someone need to use gloves?  It looks like a household garbage can-why the gloves? Was there an emergency?  I hope others find it interesting as well.

This is a viddo tutorial that shows how to turn a person into a Na’Vi in photoshop.  A Na’Vi, for those who are unaware, is a humanoid creature from the movie Avatar that had such success in December of 2009.  The characters are blue and have a different facial structure than most humans, so manipulating a photo to make a person look like one is rather difficult.  This video does a good job explaining that.  There’s also written instructions linked in the description of the video.

This was a fun shot.  It was for a light shoot, anf I’d been walking along the river in a nearby town when I saw the shadows on the stairs creating almost another set of stairs on top of the stairs.  I thought it was very interesting.  I just realized now that there’s actually a little bit of my shadow in the photo as well.  I love the way your eye almost has to choose-am I looking at stairs or shadow?  Which do I pick?

This is my least favorite photo I’ve taken.  I originally thought that the movement of the smoke across my yard would make for an interesting phot. However, I was not yet very skilled at taking these photos, so I did not get the result I wanted.  It looks like a blob in the middle of the photo.  I have improved since this, however.

This photo to me personally is rather funny.  This is my best friend, a straight-A student from a traditional family who would never get her lip pierced.  Yet she faked it for my photos.  She’s meant to be slightly angry here, protraying a typical “goth” sterotype, which is a complete juxtaposition to her sunny personality.  This was a really fun shoot for both of us, I think.

This photo was taken for a protrait assignment.  My mother had actually found a tunel under the street connecting a small lake or pond to the other side, which I thought was an interesting location. This photo to me is rather sad.  It appears that she has given uphidden away and laid her head down.  The line of her neck is very beautiful to me.
